FROM THE ARCHIVE OF: The TV Room
The 10.45pm BBC Choice Northern Ireland junction.
[00:00:00] PRODUCTION ENDBOARD: from an edition of Ferry Tales.
Horrible mocked-up version of the BBC Northern Ireland logo – with ‘Northern Ireland’ in the wrong font and not lined up with the ‘BBC’ lettering. And no character space after the copyright symbol. Very untidy.
[00:00:07] STING: one of the standard stings – Refreshing TV/Green/Laugh – transitions us from programme to in-vision link.
[00:00:10] IN-VISION CONTINUITY: announcer Michael Selby comments on the lack of e-mails in recent months to the Choice NI mailbox. Sounds as though someone laughs briefly directly after this comment – Jennie Browne?
Michael invites viewers to e-mail the Choice NI team, with comments/views and/or suggestions for a repeat showing of a particular edition of Choice Cuts – and points out that BBC Choice Northern Ireland closes at the end of the week.
Michael then links into an edition of XI Hour.
[00:00:40] IDENT: one of the standard BBC Choice Northern Ireland idents – Hearts B – is used to transition into XI Hour.
[00:00:45] PROGRAMME: the first couple of minutes of an edition of XI Hour, including the programme’s opening titles.
There’s a horrible recreation of the BBC logo in the titles.
Note the wobbly and unnecessarily prolonged camera shot used to transition to the music act (Go Commando) at the start of the show.
