Presenter: John Bennett.
[00:00:55] PROGRAMME GRAPHIC: standard BBC One slide design – for Four Minute Mile.
The programme airs on Sunday at 9.05pm on BBC One Northern Ireland.
This was around the time BBC One began moving away from 35mm slides to Quantel equivalents. BBC One Northern Ireland has simply overlaid ‘Northern Ireland’ text on a copy of a network-produced slide.
[00:01:08] PROGRAMME GRAPHIC: standard BBC One slide design – for Olympic Experience.
The programme airs on Sunday at 11.40pm on BBC One Northern Ireland.
This programme slide uses the 35mm design, which continued in use alongside the Quantel slides for some weeks. BBC Northern Ireland presumably chose not to rebrand this one as the 35mm slides were being phased out.
[00:01:28] PROGRAMME GRAPHIC: for the late Weather Forecast.
This generic slide with no channel branding was used in the late-1980s.
[00:01:56] CLOCK: the appearance of the BBC One Northern Ireland clock signals the end of the broadcasting day.
With a reminder that BBC One Northern Ireland returns at 6am with Ceefax AM, followed by Leon Errol at 6.40pm and Breakfast Time at 7am, it’s goodnight from BBC One Northern Ireland.
[00:02:44] IDENT: the standard BBC One Northern Ireland globe symbol is accompanied by the National Anthem.
