A short burst of a relatively rare version of the familiar ETP-1 test card.

[00:00:00] TEST CARD: this recording is believed to be a number months prior to the official launch of Channel 4 in 1982.
This particular version of the ETP-1 test card was more commonly seen in the months leading up to the channel’s launch.
It lacks the horizonal lines above and below the “IBA:CH4” text. This indicates that the source of the test card was one of the IBA Regional Operations Centres (ROCs) rather than Channel 4’s playout operation in London.
After the channel launched, this version of the ETP-1 test card was radiated less often – mostly confined to transmitter warm-up early in the morning or during engineering work by the IBA outside of normal broadcasting hours.
