[00:00:00] PROGRAMME: the final seconds of the film, Suspicion.

This is next Saturday’s Hitchcock film, airing at 11.15pm.
[00:00:59] CLOCK: with the standard BBC Two clock showing 1.31am, it’s goodnight from BBC Two.
There’s 30 seconds or so of black and silence after the clock is faded out. Test tone then kicks in and runs for exactly 2 minutes.
Around 10 seconds after the end of the test tone, the video signal is withdrawn.
About two-and-a-quarter minutes later, the sawtooth pattern appears, accompanied by test tone.
Just under fifteen seconds later, the video signal is withdrawn again.
Shortly after this, BBC Two transmitters across the country would then shut down for the night, one by one.
