The first edition of An Audience With… airs on ITV. The format: a special guest hosts a one-off show in front of a celebrity audience. The first guest host was Dame Edna Everage. The An Audience With programme title had been used previously – also by London Weekend Television – for a six-part series hosted by comedian Jasper Carrott, in 1978.
