The first non-public holiday weekday of the new year and BBC One starts its day with news and information courtesy of Ceefax AM.

[00:00:29] TEST CARD: as ever for a standard weekday morning programme schedule, Test Card F swings into action at 5.52am (and 30 seconds), for its usual seven-a-half-minute airing prior to Ceefax AM.
[00:08:09] TELETEXT IN-VISION: at 6am, Ceefax AM takes over the airwaves, with its usual mix of news, newspaper reviews, finance, sport, weather and TV listings.
The BBC One Ceefax tape being played here is March from the Merry War, which was in use from 16th December 1987 until 17th October 1990.
