Video content

[00:00:00] PRE-PROGRAMME IDENT: the pre-programme from a 1969 episode of Curry and Chips, the controversial LWT sitcom by Johnny Speight.

[00:00:07] PROGRAMME: a snippet of the opening titles and closing credits from an episode of Curry and Chips

[00:00:14] PRODUCTION ENDBOARD: the production endboard from Curry and Chips.

The ident and production endboards also came in orange and blue versions. The colour production endboard didn’t always include the ‘A Colour Production’ text.

Speight claimed one of the aims of the show was to highlight discrimination. Unfortunately, the Independent Television Authority and many viewers disagreed, finding the show to be racist. It was cancelled after only six episodes.
