[00:00:00] TELETEXT IN-VISION: the selection of pages shown here is all we have from this broadcast. It includes the majority of the special festive pages.
This is from a BBC One in-vision Ceefax broadcast that went out 8.30am – 9.20am on Christmas Eve.
Ceefax pages did not formally replace the test card as daytime programme filler until May 1983. Between March 1980 and May 1983 Ceefax in-vision shared daytime “downtime” with the test card.

The in-vision transmissions typically provided a digest of news, sport, weather, travel and TV listings. But this special early morning broadcast on Christmas Eve featured lots of special Christmas pages. Among them, festive and New Year greetings from teletext services from around the world:
- Keycom Electronic Publishing in Chicago.
- Electra and WKRC in Cincinatti.
- Seventext, Sydney.
- Teletekst, NOS, Netherlands.
- Videotext, ARD/ZDF, West Germany.
- Hungary.
- Switzerland.
- Text-TV, Stockholm.
