The final hour or so of the final Pages from Ceefax on BBC TV.
Video content
[00:00:00] TELETEXT IN-VISION: we join Pages from Ceefax about ten minutes after it started (it started a few seconds after 4.45am).
It’s worth noting that this final “in-vision” broadcast was preceded by a recreation of the 1979 – 1986 BBC Two ident and a special announcement by duty announcer Dean Lydiate:
“This is BBC Two – and it’s the end of an era, as we mark a piece of television history.
“As Northern Ireland goes digital soon, Ceefax ends transmission after 38 years.
“And since 1980, we’ve shown Ceefax In-Vision pages with music on the BBC…until now.
“So, before the final fade to black, enjoy for the very last time, news and information, with Pages from Ceefax and some music.
“Time to hit the road…”
