A brief example of local continuity on BBC Two from 1986.

[00:00:00] PROGRAMME GRAPHIC: a very brief glimpse of the electronically generated programme graphics used by BBC Northern Ireland from late-1984 until 1986.
Although BBC Northern Ireland had a slide scanner (used for the BBC Two Northern Ireland ident which follows), the Presentation department in Belfast had no Paintbox kit available to create slides for local programmes in line with the design used on network.
[00:00:01] IDENT: BBC Two Northern Ireland. As with all nations and regions during this period, the BBC Two ident was available in slide format only. The hardware used for the animating ‘TWO’ was only available in London.
