[00:00:00] PROGRAMME: the music and simplistic graphical representation of a house leave the viewer in no doubt that this programme is for children.
This original version of the programme’s theme was the work of musicologist and broadcaster Roger Fiske – who was also responsible for the Jackanory theme.
The memorable opening voiceover: “Here’s a house. Here’s a door. Windows: 1, 2, 3, 4. Ready to knock? Turn the lock. It’s Play School.”
