Special titles for BBC Breakfast Time, on the fortieth anniversary of VE Day.
Video content
[00:00:00] PROGRAMME: the one-off titles start off with a black and white photograph of Buckingham Palace, presumably from 1945.
We then see black and white video footage of people receiving the news that the war with Germany is over, followed by shots of people celebrating.
We then progress to archive footage of large crowds assembled outside Buckingham Palace, followed by the appearance of members of the Royal Family, accompanied by Winston Churchill, on the balcony of Buckingham Palace.
A ‘V’ shape graphic is then overlaid over images of jubilant crowds. The BBC Breakfast Time sun logo appears, and animates a number of times, before the programme’s sub-title appears: ‘VE Day: Forty Years On’.
A ‘V’ wipe effect then takes us through to a wide shot of the studio, where we see presenters Frank Bough and Sue Cook seated.
