The 2.30pm BBC Two junction. BBC Two had an Open University slot earlier in the day (10.35am – 12.15pm) but was now coming back on air after over two hours of the test card.

[00:00:00] PROGRAMME MENU GRAPHIC: when BBC Two came back on air, the announcer will have welcomed viewers via the channel ident before cutting up this menu and verbally walking through the listed programmes. He will then have cued some music, which is already playing when we join the action.

The track playing here seems to be a version of The Great Pretender.

[00:01:33] IDENT: link into Horizon.

[00:01:46] PROGRAMME: the opening titles for Horizon. And the opening seconds of an edition titled Smokers’ Luck.
