[00:00:00] PROGRAMME PROMOTION: for the Tonight programme. The presenter featured here is Valerie Singleton, who was brought in to cover for Sue Lawley who was on maternity leave.
Apologies – the first portion of this trail is missing from our recording.
[00:00:26] GRAPHIC: the weather for tomorrow is read out-of-vision by the announcer.
[00:00:54] PROMOTION: for the Radio Times. Three new BBC Two programmes are featured:
- Accident.
- The Birds Fall Down.
- The Voyage of Charles Darwin.
And although the striped ‘2’ logo wouldn’t feature in BBC Two’s channel ident until June 1979, it featured prominently in a special animation for this Radio Times trail. Oddly (by today’s branding standards) this logo had been popping up since 1975, even though the logo in the channel’s ident looked very different.
[00:02:15] IDENT: link into an edition of Omnibus – a profile of Paul Gauguin.
[00:02:24] PROGRAMME: the opening titles for Omnibus.
