All four terrestrial TV networks were blacked out across Northern Ireland due to a fault at the main transmitter.
[00:00:00] PROGRAMME: a short report at the end of the main evening edition of BBC Inside Ulster describing how a power fault at the main Divis transmitter in Belfast blacked out all four terrestrial television channels across Northern Ireland for an hour-and-a-half, from lunchtime.
Northern Ireland Electricity investigated the failure which was later confirmed as a fault with the switching gear. A temporary fix was applied to get services back on the air.
Divis supplies feeds of BBC One, BBC Two, UTV and Channel 4 to all other transmitters across Northern Ireland.
