[00:00:00] PROGRAMME MENU GRAPHIC: today’s Open University programmes have just come to an end and now we see the first example of a BBC Two menu graphic, as the new channel on-screen presentation package makes its debut.
This example contains imagery from the new Silk ident.
Announcer Peter Offer talks us through the list of programmes planned for the afternoon and early evening.
[00:00:36] IDENT: the first on-air appearance of any of the 1991 – 1997 era idents, produced by Martin Lambie-Nairn.
In this case, the Paint ident is used to link into Mahabharat.
A BBC logo should’ve been added live beneath the ‘2’. For whatever reason, it failed to appear here.
All of the idents were played off laserdisc.
