BBC Two comes to the end of a day of jazz.

[00:00:00] PROGRAMME: the final seconds of Ella Fitzgerald at Ronnie Scott’s.
We see the programme’s 1974 copyright endboard.
[00:00:09] CLOCK: announcer Peter Bolgar mentions some of the programmes coming up tomorrow as part of Jazz on a Summer’s Day – the sounds of Miles Davis, Lester Young, Louis Armstrong, Count Basie, as well as the film version of The Benny Goodman Story.
But now, at a little after twenty minutes past one, it’s goodnight from BBC Two.
We fade to black at [00:00:55]. Thirty seconds later, test tone kicks in.
Test tone continues for two minutes.
[00:04:17] TEST SIGNAL: control is passed to the OU Con suite, in preparation for Open University programmes at 6.25am. We see the OU test signal – identified mainly by the “OU” text in the top left corner. Test tone forms part of the OU test signal.
At [00:04:17] the video signal is withdrawn. This triggered the overnight shutdown of the transmitter network.
