The 8.10pm BBC One Northern Ireland junction.
Video content
[00:00:00] GRAPHIC: promoting the contact telephone number for Nationwide’s Operation Christmas Appeal.
A very familiar number for those of a certain age.
[00:00:19] PROGRAMME PROMOTION: for Play for Today: The Flipside of Dominick Hide.
The programme airs tomorrow at 9.35pm on BBC One.
[00:01:27] PROGRAMME GRAPHIC: a cross-channel promotion graphic for a BBC Two programme – Des O’Connor Tonight.
The programme is on BBC Two now.
This is an unusual template, which was relatively short-lived. The ‘2’ logo shown here was also used to represent BBC Radio 2 in promotional materials in the 1970s.
[00:01:34] IDENT: the standard BBC One Northern Ireland globe symbol is used to link into an edition of Panorama.
The picture roll seen at the start and end of the ident’s on air slot is typical of picture sync issues on BBC Northern Ireland at the time when transitioning between London and Belfast on the local continuity desk.
[00:01:45] PROGRAMME: the opening seconds of a pre-recorded edition of Panorama.
We briefly hear from SDLP leader, John Hume.
