Video content
[00:00:00] PROGRAMME: the final minute or so of an episode of Hill Street Blues.
[00:01:10] PRODUCTION ENDBOARD: the simple white on black “An N2 Presentation” board, generally used for non-RTÉ-produced/imported programming.
These boards were introduced at the relaunch of the channel in November.
[00:01:15] PROGRAMME PROMOTION: for The Client.
The film airs on Tuesday at 9.20pm on RTÉ One.
[00:01:58] IDENT: an announcerless playout of the Implosion ident brings the broadcasting day to a close on RTÉ Network 2.
[00:02:10] TELETEXT IN-VISION: when RTÉ Network 2’s daily programme schedule came to an end, the remainder of the night hours would be filled with a selection of in-vision pages from Aertel, accompanied by the sound of RTÉ 2FM.
Here though, the teletext decoder seems to have froze, during the early evening of Christmas Eve.
There was very stormy weather in Ireland over the Christmas period, so it’s possible the decoder was affected by a weather-related power glitch/outage.
Whatever the cause, the decoder was left in this state into the first days of the new year (at least).
