Video content
[00:00:00] PROGRAMME: the close of The Mike Yarwood Christmas Show.
[00:00:57] PROGRAMME PROMOTION: for The Two Ronnies. The comics entertain us with some jokes from their desk, in a segment made specially for this trail.
[00:02:16] PROGRAMME GRAPHIC: for The Count of Luxembourg which is now on BBC Two.
As for the make-up of this caption: it looks like we have a live camera in front of a small blue screen, with tinsel and baubles down one side. We can see the blue glow on the tinsel.
Possibly set up in Pres A/B – with the air conditioning causing the tinsel to move. The programme image will have been keyed in.
[00:02:29] IDENT: we see the festive BBC One ident.
Clive Roslin introduces the made-for-television film True Grit: A True Adventure. Starring Warren Oates as Rooster J. Cogburn.
Speaking to Radio Times, Oates said: “There was a lot of serious concern that anyone would try to take on John Wayne’s role in True Grit. Some people saw it as almost sacrilegious. I know that I can never fill John Wayne’s boots but it was fun trying.”
This is one of only a few junctions from the Christmas period that survive, and feature the revolving Santa’s head festive channel symbol.
