The announcer tells us to watch out for patches of black ice in central and northern parts.
He then leaves us with a final thought: “If everyone brushed their own doorstep, then the whole street would soon be clean.”
Over 27 years later, Reg contacted us to explain the sentiment behind that statement: “Ah yes the old ‘Doorstep’ story. Yes, a bit oblique. I had visited an old peoples’ home and an old lady told me this story – which got stuck in my conscious…and I liked the image of everyone sweeping their front doorsteps. A subliminal message of community and cooperation.”
