Video content
[00:00:00] GRAPHIC: an RTÉ News Summary slide is used to link into a short bulletin. A verbal introduction is provided by the continuity announcer.
[00:00:04] PROGRAMME: Seán Duignan presents a short news bulletin, from a small studio in the Presentation department. There was no autocue for these bulletins.
[00:01:41] GRAPHIC: the RTÉ News Summary slide is again deployed – this time to mark the end of the bulletin.
[00:01:44] PROGRAMME GRAPHIC: the standard RTÉ One slide design, for Forsyte Saga.
The programme follows in half an hour.
[00:01:51] IDENT: the slide version of the RTÉ One ident is used to link into an episode of Sons and Daughters.
Very generous lead sound here – this happened a lot. But it would become a thing of the past with an upgrade of the RTÉ One continuity suite in autumn 1991, when vision and audio for each source on the desk was tied together – no more lead sound on any event.
We see the opening second or two of the Sons and Daughters titles.
