[00:00:00] PROGRAMME PROMOTION: for Alexi Sayle’s Merry-Go-Round.
The programme starts on Tuesday at 10.15pm on RTÉ Network 2.
[00:00:35] PROGRAMME PROMOTION: for Beverly Hills 9020.
The programme airs on Sunday at 5.30pm on RTÉ Network 2.
[00:01:08] IDENT: one of the standard RTÉ Network 2 idents – Tunnel – is used to link into an episode of Knight Rider.
[00:01:19] PROGRAMME: the opening titles for an episode of Knight Rider.
This is a season one episode, Hearts of Stone.
We see a brief clip from the opening minutes of the episode, where KITT’s new voice modulator is revealed for the first time – undoubtedly influenced by the modulator used for KITT’s evil predecessor KARR, seen a few episodes earlier (in Trust Doesn’t Rust).
KITT’s voice modulator was a single flashing red light in the first thirteen episodes of the series.
We then see the programme graphic shown at the start and end of commercial breaks, before jumping to the closing scene – note the boom microphone coming into shot when Michael, Bonnie and Devon are standing beside KITT.
And then we’re on to the full closing sequence/credits.
At the end of the clip, we see a variation of the slide used at the end of imported programmes on RTÉ Network 2. It would usually read “N2 Presentation”.
