A busy Christmas Day draws to a close on BBC Two.

[00:00:04] CLOCK: with the usual reminder that BBC Radio 1, BBC Radio 2 and BBC Radio 5 Live continue throughout the night – and a quick name check for the BBC Two network control team – it’s goodnight from BBC Two.
[00:00:30] IDENT: an announcerless playout of the 1996 Christmas BBC Two ident.
Around 35 seconds after the ident sound is faded out completely, test tone/GLITS kicks in. Tone continues for the usual two minutes.
We then have a brief period of black and silence.
[00:03:55] TEST CARD: accompanied by test tone/GLITS – continues for the remainder of the night.
BBC Two transmitters were usually shut down overnight. But since many parts of the country would experience below zero temperatures tonight, the transmitter network was left on.
