RTÉ Network 2 starts the day.

[00:00:00] CLOCK: during the 1995 – 1997 presentation era, RTÉ Network 2 would start the day with five minutes of the clock and music.
Our clip has potentially missed the first few minutes of the clock here.
Other than the clock hands, the other visual elements here are played off laserdisc.
[00:02:30] IDENT: an announcerless playout of the Earth ident.
Because the preceding event (the clock) required content based on laserdisc (the background), the ident event had to be played out from tape.
[00:02:42] PROGRAMME MENU GRAPHIC: the standard slide-based menu graphic – here showing the programme line-up taking us up to the start of children’s programmes at 2.30pm.
The announcer walks us through the programme list.
There was also an animated programme menu background available on laserdisc.
[00:03:17] PROGRAMME PROMOTION: for Glenroe.
The programme airs on Sunday at 8.30pm on RTÉ One.
[00:03:45] IDENT: the Water ident takes us into the next programme – Back to the Kingdom.
The ident was played off laserdisc.
[00:04:00] PROGRAMME: a slightly incomplete copy of the opening titles for Back to the Kingdom.
