Video content
[00:00:00] PROGRAMME: Lynda Bryans presenting the signed edition of BBC Inside Ulster Update. The signer is Raymond Abernethy.
This short news update was broadcast each weeknight on BBC One Northern Ireland after the early evening repeat of Neighbours, which was shown at 6.30pm in Northern Ireland.
[00:02:00] PROGRAMME GRAPHIC: BBC Radio Ulster slide for Inside Politics, presented by Jim Dougal. This was a fairly standard design for promotional slides for BBC Radio Ulster programmes.
The audible thud that you hear at [00:02:15] is the announcer/director cuing the tape for the programme promotion (below). There’ll be another very noticeable button press to cut to the promo at [00:02:18].
[00:02:18] PROGRAMME PROMOTION: for Racing from Down Royal. The programme goes out Tuesday at 2.20pm.
Quite a poor rendering of the ‘1’ logo.
Network promotions didn’t put ‘am’ or ‘pm’ on the programme times.
[00:02:42] PROGRAMME GRAPHIC: BBC One Northern Ireland slide for The Rock ‘n’ Roll Years 1967. The programme is coming up at 7.30pm on BBC One.
This is basically a copy of the network slide, with a BBC Northern Ireland logo overlaid at the bottom.
[00:02:49] IDENT: another very loud button press when cutting up the BBC One Northern Ireland globe symbol.
This is a link into the final episode of Eldorado.
Another button press coming up – to bring in network audio again.
[00:03:03] PROGRAMME: opening title sequence for the final episode of Eldorado.
The titles were designed by Alan Jeapes.
At [00:03:07], you notice a very slight change in brightness and saturation – this is the BBC Northern Ireland announcer/director taking the local continuity desk out of circuit.
