The programme airs on Monday at 9.30pm on BBC One.

[00:00:30] IDENT: one of the standard BBC One idents – Scottish 5 – is used to link into the late-night weather outlook.

[00:00:38] PROGRAMME: Helen Young presents the late national weather forecast.

[00:01:42] PROGRAMME PROMOTION: for New Year’s Day programmes on BBC One:

5.25pm Film: K-9.

7pm World’s Strongest Man.

8pm Film: Apollo 13.

10.15pm News and Weather.

10.35pm Film: Airplane II: the Sequel.

[00:02:13] IDENT: the BBC News 24 ident is played as a means of transitioning to the live simulcast of the news channel. Normally, BBC One would also use one of its own idents for the nightly handover to the news channel.

[00:02:24] PROGRAMME: the live simulcast of BBC News 24 commences, at exactly 3am.

We see the opening headlines and ident, as well as some examples of lower thirds.

The presenter is Jane Hill. Our clip includes a portion of a report by Frank Gardiner.
