[00:05:21] CLOCK: with the usual closedown pointer in the direction of BBC Radio 2 – at seven-and-a-half minutes to midnight, it’s goodnight from BBC One.
[00:06:07] IDENT: the BBC One globe is accompanied by the National Anthem.
After a little under thirty seconds of black and silence, test tone kicks in. Although our clip terminates about five minutes later, test tone usually ran for ten minutes, before the overnight shutdown of the national transmitter network was triggered.
