Video content

[00:00:00] PROGRAMME: a portion of the early evening national weather forecast, with David Braine.

[00:01:08] PROGRAMME PROMOTION: for 2000 Today.

The programme airs from New Year’s Eve.

Note this trail is locally branded. Usually, only trails for BBC Northern Ireland programmes or timeshifted network programmes carried BBC One Northern Ireland or BBC Two Northern Ireland branding.

We suspect a local version of this trail was produced because when transmitted via the network feed, picture glitches occurred. Such picture disturbance was not uncommon on the network feed (in Northern Ireland) at the time. The glitches seemed to occur when the video contained bright, frequently changing colours.

[00:02:11] IDENT: the BBC One Northern Ireland Christmas ident is used to link into the local news.

[00:02:20] PROGRAMME: the full early evening edition of BBC Newsline, presented by Mark Carruthers.

The programme contains packages by: Karen Atkinson; Noreen Erskine; Mervyn Jess.

Cecilia Daly presented the weather forecast.

[00:10:11] PROGRAMME PROMOTION: the line-up for Boxing Day evening on BBC One:

5.25pm Vets in Practice at Christmas.

5.55pm Animal Hospital.

6.25pm David Copperfield.

8pm Christmas Casualty.

9pm Mission: Impossible.

[00:10:51] STING: one of the BBC One Christmas stings.

[00:10:53] PROGRAMME PROMOTION: for News Review of the Year.

The programme airs on Monday at 10.40pm on BBC One Northern Ireland.

[00:11:23] IDENT: the BBC One Northern Ireland Christmas ident is used to link into Children’s Promise: the Man in the Golden Suit.

[00:11:41] STING: the BBC Millennium sting.

[00:11:49] PROGRAMME: the opening seconds of Children’s Promise: the Man in the Golden Suit, presented by Des O’Connor.

The picture glitch at [00:11:49] is the BBC Northern Ireland continuity desk being taken out of circuit.
